Champion Technology's i-KEY Project Kicks Off

Hong Kong (28 April 2005) - Champion Technology Holdings Limited (SEHK:092) announced today that it planned to equip all company cars owned and deployed by the Group in its global offices, as well as vehicles owned by its staff, with i-KEY within the next twelve months. i-KEY is a technological breakthrough solution for drink driving prevention, and is one of the Group's major in-car telematics initiatives.

Sales of i-KEY commenced in April this year in Japan, after it was soft-launched end of last year with a fleet of trucks and vans. Market response has been encouraging.

Hiroshi Takahashi, Marketing Director of i-KEY, was pleased with the progress, "I'm delighted that Champion Technology Group is a frontrunner in introducing products that address the increasingly serious problem of drink-driving, which in some places is reported to account for about 40% of all fatal car crashes."

Within China, i-KEY was exhibited at several major hi-tech and automotive showcases which drew a large audience and high profile publicity. i-KEY is currently being promoted at the 11th International Automobile and Manufacturing Technology Exhibition in Shanghai (AUTO Shanghai 2005, April 22-28).

i-KEY is the world's first drink-driving prevention device which is independent of the body of the vehicle, thereby enabling all existing cars to be equipped in a ready and convenient manner. The device integrates a breath analyzer to any car key and is used to test the driver's alcohol level to determine whether "green light" should be released to start the car engine. i-KEY is remarkably simple to use, requiring the driver to blow into a small mouthpiece on the side of i-KEY. If the alcohol level exceeds the legal limit, a red light will show and the interlock will block entry to the ignition of vehicles.

"Dangerous driving is devastating, and getting drunken drivers off the road is of paramount importance, " said Mr. Takahashi. "Existing in-car interlock devices, though effective in preventing drink-driving, involve major modifications to the car body and require installation by qualified technicians. i-KEY, on the other hand, can be replaced readily and provides the same protection at a fraction of the cost of modifying a car."

It is hoped that the new device will be made mandatory for drink-driving prevention, and that i-KEY will become a standard feature in all existing and new vehicles.
